Mamba Max and 5700 gearing

I used to run the 7700 kv motor in my rustler and i ran it 12/87 on 8 cells. The power was out of control and it managed 50 mph on the gps. I had gotten rid of that system a while ago, and i just got in a trade a Mamba max and 5700 system. I know some of you are running this motor, and i was wondering how you had it geared in a traxxas car. I was thinking of trying around a 17 but i havent put he motor in yet and am looking for a baseline starting point so i dont have to buy a grip of pinions. Im plannong on 8 - 10 cells on this, maybe a 3s LiPo. Post up what you have yours geared at, how it drives, and what tires you are running. thanks.

I'd say You've already got the 12, so put in the 3 cell, and 12 tooth, see how hot things get, and adjust from there.

I just tried the 12, way too low. Instant acceleretion but only about 30 mph. Il try 15 or 16 tomarrow. And i dont have the 3s yet, but i ran it on 6 cells, and im liking the motor so far. Its pretty bitch'n.
