The river went up 11 feet in 3 days.....you can't get out to the island at Spring Park as of this afternoon. Last Friday when I was down there, the river was as low as I had seen it all summer. CRAZY.

Yeah, we'll have to see how the water looks in 3 weeks or so. Dave's is definately a possibility once it's ready!

I'm looking forward to checking out Daves place, and maybe it should be the backup, but there aren't going to be many more chances to comp at some of the lower lying areas by the river this winter..... we can comp at Daves anytime. Just a thought.

X2 I think Daves place needs a little more rock and work, could a mrc even move under its own power out there.

why cause your belly dragger doesn't like holes? come on out! i've been out there filling holes. and cleaning up alot of the riff raff.. but if thats not good enough we can go somewhere where weve been 100 times and stand in the rain all day! im not saying i'm scared of the rain but i'm sure there a few people that would rather stand in a covered shop and be able to watch people run..

and if that doesn't work that comp is actually on my birthday! so my wish this year is to have the comp there... lol!

That sounds so great....we should go buy a huge circus tent, and cover his whole property....in fact we can have all the scale comps there too. Maybe the whole club can move down there and we can just do the whole winter series there. Having a chance of getting wet for 5 hours, once a month, is so frustrating.......:nutkick:

Where is this Dave's place? Something under cover or inside wouldn't be bad, but I am game for pretty much anyplace.

Where is this Dave's place?

Dave's place is down in Dallas, just west of Salem. He has some acreage where they have been importing rock and building courses. I'm all up for it, but later in the winter when nothing else is available.

Where are you coming from? It's just off Hwy 43 at the south end of downtown Lake Oswego.

Go to the "Places to crawl" forum, and click on "Google map of crawling locations" sticky at the top.

for all that are interested-

my place is open for people to practice or comp. just call when u want to come out. I am in the process of accuiring about 40-50 tons of new rocks. though as everyone knows getting and moving them is alot of work and not cheap.

i have also added lights, well a 1500w stadium lt at one end of the area, though it is not perfect as ive been told(tomany shadows). so this weekend im going to pick up a 24'pole and set up the other 1500w light from the opposite end(more so the white people can tan).

the area is about 200' long on about a 30 degree hilside that ranges from 25'-40' in width. I covered the whole thing with open pit run (about 265tons) then started adding larger rocks with a few 8-900lb piggys. 2/3 of the bigger rock is dottie crushed (soft grey rock W/fractures). the rest of the rock in its own area is red colored smooth bolders w/superb traction.

its a new experience for those that have only ran on mono rock!!!!!
we will try to post up some pics

I'm thinking the weather is going to start getting crappy- Dave's place might be the ticket for Comp #4... If he's got his new rock all setup how he likes!

I was hoping some of you guys that have crawled the comp location before could help with tire choices. My new mayhem wont be here in time so im limited to my wheel selection (more tires than wheels). I was wondering if you guys would run claws or rovers. Any HONEST help would be great. What type of rock is it anyone have a pic?
