I'm running 2.2 moabs.. I first glued them with no foams and 1 drilled hole in the rims. The tires where liked air downed to like 1PSI

I want to add foam now.. But how much do I add? What do you all find to work best for all general crawling. (Sand, Dirt, Mud, Rocks)

I want to get the tires right this time..

Thanks

This thread has some good info in foams http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71032

It's about sidehilling, but check out how he has the foams cut.

Personal opinion is that "star" pattern is WAAAAY over rated. I've found it to be inconsistent, and break down the foam faster.

I like the foam to support the sidewall, and leave the tread surface soft. Once way to do this is to cut a channel around the outside of the foam.

You can also get good results with a Masher or Moab 2.2 by tossing the stock foam, and replacing it with a shorter 2.2 foam, like a buggy size 2.2 foam. This keeps the tread super soft, but still supports the tire to keep it from twisting up. If you are going to try the short foams, it's a good idea to get something more dense than the Moab / Masher foam, such as the stuff made for racing.

Awesome, thank you very much. Yeah I just started cutting out. I used a bit of few people advice to cut mine.. I'll see how they turn out..

one thing ive seen but havent tried yet is putting like plastic bb's in ur tires...its supposed to keep some rigidity but at the same time, allowing the tires to move more freely...

I've been testing the Kreepy-Skwishy memory foams, and have been VERY impressed thus far.

lol...nothing wrong w/ 0PSI...i seem to have decent traction...the only thing i have a problem with is crawling up a dirt hill..it just starts bouncing and digs in...sometimes i can side hill it and go up...:) but i like no foams...:)
