Alright guys, the darkness is starting to conspire against us, so here is the question. Would you be willing to attend comps on Saturdays or Sundays if I changed to comp day? Most likely it would be a late morning or early afternoon start time, no later than about 1:00 pm and no earlier than about 11:00 am. Let me know what you guys would like to see. I will only do this if there is enough interest to keep it going. I don't want to do it if there is only going to be 3 or 4 guys show up. I would like to consistently have about 10-15 people show up. We will not do these comps on weekends that there is a scheduled ORCRC comp, so it will be about 3 times a month. Let me know your opinion. Please only vote if you would regularly attend.

I am willing.
I voted Sunday and I prefer starting earlier rather than later.

Thanks, Robin. Sundays would work best for me, but I am willing to do either day depending on what everybody wants. I would prefer to start at about 11:00 am, but again will leave it up to the masses.

I voted Sunday because Josh works Sat and this would get more people to show up. Heck, we might even see some of the Dallas crew show! That would be kick A!.

I'd probably be able to make an occasional Sunday event. Keep in mind the Scale comp dates too!

Sundays would be awesome. 10th week out of town for work in a row now. Home on the weekends though.

Scale, shmale!! We have real men that come to our comps, not those girly men.:lmao: J/K all you scale guys, don't start with the hate mail and death threats. I will keep them in mind.
Looks like Sunday is going to be the day of choice, but I will give it a few more days before I lock it in. We will keep most of the comps at High Rocks, but may occasionally switch it up with Barton or George Rogers, etc. to keep it interesting.

I voted Sunday! I like it possibly switching to the weekend, easier to make it rather than during the week now that school started.

I voted Saturday. Will try to make some Sundays, but that is my Mt. bike and paintball day depending on the weekend.

So it looks like Sunday.... May I propose it being a "Rainy Day Series" and doing something like we normally do... 5 bucks a head to compete, winner takes half, and a 20 dollar season point registration fee. You can still comp for 5 bucks a night, but if you want the points to count towards the season, you have to pay the 20 bucks. Season champ takes all. Comp's to start at noon so we can see some of the scale guys heading over after their comps.
What do you guys think of this?

Chris,
I really like your idea on this. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a $10.00 season point registration fee. I get a little scared with the $20.00 fee because if the total ends up being $200.00 (10 guys) or so, guys start taking it a little too seriously and we end up with fighting, rules callouts, hurt feelings, etc. Not that most everybody isn't there to have a good time, but the more that is on the line, the more potential there is for problems. If other people want to see it at $20.00, no problem with me. I would say maybe start the series the first comp in November and run it through 10 comps with 1 throw out. Keep the suggestions rolling and we will come up with something workable.

10 or 20... Whichever works for me. I personally like seeing the competition of people duking it out for a spot in the points. I do understand and can see some crybabies though. We will just have to make it VERY CLEAR as to the rules to make sure everyone is aware so we try to minimize the crying. No matter what, you can't please em all, but I like the Idea of seeing the Champ possibly taking home a couple hundred bucks at the end of the series. Putting something at stake will bring out some good driving and that will only help ya' get better. Maybe it can be like 75% of the money and the other 25% can go to some cheap trophies or something like that. I dunno. Just trying to make it kinda more kewl. Heck, we could even try to get some prizes together for a raffle at the end like at A-main.... I could try to cough up a couple batteries....

Yeah, $10 or $20 doesn't matter to me, whatever the majority wants to do is fine with me. There will not be any trophies, that I can guarantee. I would rather take home the cash than have some stupid, cheesy trophy for the effort. Maybe make the top 3 or 5 spots take home some cash, might encourage more people to join if they think they have a chance of winning something. I know there are quite a few guys that probably won't join in if it is winner-take-all, just because they know they probably can't win it. But they will probably join if they have a chance at top 3 or top 5. Again, maybe other people can chime in with some suggestions or opinions. We can do some tech, I don't have a problem with that just to make sure everyone is legal. Maybe add some incentive like this: if you think someone is cheating, it costs you $10.00 to have them teched. If they are legal, the $10.00 goes to the suspect. If they are caught cheating or illegal, then you keep the $10.00 and they are disqualified from that comps scores. Lots of ways to do it.

Dave and Chris,
Turning this into a series is a great idea! I also see a problem though with people starting to take it to serious with to much money on the table. So if you set it to $10 or $20 and give it to the top 5 with first getting the most then it decreasing for each place lower people will have an incentive to join. If this is done I don't think it should be $5 each comp along with the fee fir the series. Just pay the one time fee and your good, so I guess $20 would be ok, then have it be a 8 week series. And if it goes well do it again. Just my thoughts on it:)

I think this is heading in a good direction. I am guessing with the move to the weekend the attendance will grow a bit. I think if the weekly $5 stays the same, the season points game should be $10 a person. should help the turnout keeping it down. split amongst the top 5 finishers. I bet we could get around 15 or so people. I know i'd be in for sure

We will keep the $5 per comp thing going, that way guys aren't forced into buying into the series. Plus it helps cover my expenses for doing all the leg work for everything. $10 or $20 for the series, whatever the majority wants, and all that money will go into the prize purse. I would suggest this: $10.00 for a series fee with the money split between the top 3 OR $20.00 for a series fee with the money split between the top 5. Keep up the dialog on this and we will have it hashed out before the comp next Wednesday.
