Ok,
So I am still a little green to the Toyotas. I know alot of people put 2nd gen rears up front. I am hopefully picking up a set tonight.. A couple Questions:

A. Is there any mods to put them up front? I know on the back they measure about 48in and right now with the shackle straight up and down on the front of my truck, it's 45in.

B. Roughly how many inches of lift do they provide?

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

You can use any Gen version of rear springs up front. Although some flex better than others while others seem to last longer. Most 2wd rear springs are longer than the 4wd trucks too.

Putting rears up front is not as simple as just putting the rears up front. It's going to be a small project to get the ride, lift and setup you are after. It also pushes your front axle forward 2". You'll have to mix-n-match to get your perfect combo. Figure that you'll assemble and dis-assemble the springs 3-5 times before you get it right.

I did rears up front on my '83 using a combo of stock rear '83 leafs, pro-comp leafs and parts from another Toyota pack. My setup sat flat, with a very small amount of positive arch. I had about 2.5" of lift. I also did a full Toyota spring swap in the rear to match the front, hybrid pack of longer Toyota leaf springs which moved my rear axle back 1.5".
